{First match of the season and I started off with a good game. From an early mistake from black I never let him in the game and was able to build pressure on the centre which led to one mistake after another.} 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 exd5 4. Nf3 {This lead it into the French exchange variation} Nf6 5. Nc3 Bb4 6. Bd2 {This moves give black a slight advantage although if he plays correctly} ({I should have played this line.} 6. Bb5+ Bd7 7. O-O Nbd7 {Black loses the advantage with this move and I should have played Bd3} 9. a3 Ba5 {This turn out to be a losing move for black as it gives me pawn which I gratefully accepted.} 10. Nxd5 {I think this move really surprised Black he really started to slow his moves down and took about 10 mins on this move.} Bxd2 (10... Nxd5 {Was slightly better for white.} 11. Bxa5 Re8 12. Re1) 11. Nxf6+ Nxf6 12. Qxd2 Ne4 $4 13. Qd1 {I missed Qf4 here which may have been better for white.} Qf6 14. c3 Rad8 15. Bd3 Rfe8 16. Re1 b6 $2 {I do not like this move for black I suppose he was going to play c5 next but he never had time for this move.} 17. Qc2 Qc6 $4 ( 17... Nd6 {was the only move he could play here without losing the game and I was surprised he missed it and did not play it.}) 18. Ne5 $3 {Such a good square for the Knight attacks his queen and blocks a defending piece} Rxe5 { One mistake after another. He was going to lose a piece anyway but to loses a Rook for Knight and still leave the pressure on the Bishop. I suppose he wanted me to play BxN which would lose the game for white.} 19. dxe5 {Still keeps the pressure on the Knight} (19. Bxe4 Bxe4 20. Qd2 {and white would be down a piece} (20. Rxe4 {Would be even worse.} Rxe4 {White would be down a rook })) 19... Rxd3 {After this Black has had enough and like a gentleman resigned.} 20. Qxd3 {After this Black has had enough and like a gentleman resigned.} 1-0
