On Friday our 3rd team playing in the Fuller League had the same result as the previous week - Ken Smith drawing on board one, Lee Brockwell winning on board two, Sarah playing a hard fought game but going down on board three and Keith Thompson picking up a win on board four.

The evening started well with Ken Smith (115) - playing on board 1 - with a quick draw in only 15 moves with Lee Phillips (126). Lee Brockwell playing on board 2 (109) had an excellent win over Phil Wheeler (116) this week. Then Keith Thompson (93) had what one may say was a lucky win against Tom Peautells (98) when Tom left his rook en-prix which Keith duly took with a check and Tom resigned (see attached games).

Our newest member of the team - Sarah Walker-Buckton (97) - fought well after a bad opening blunder which left her a rook down for the remainder of the match against Joe Martin (99), doing well to take her match into an end game again. She only resigned when Joe had a much superior endgame and passed pawns which Sarah could not stop.
