Our En Passant Cup team have had a close match with Gravesend which Sidcup won by 3.5 -2.5. Gravesend won the toss and in traditional Gravesend style chose to have the black pieces on the odd-numbered boards, even though Cliff Chandler no longer plays for them.

The match started badly with a piece dropping off on board 5 and the other games looking fairly level. Indeed, Greg Edwards, Rohit Vishwakarma and Tony Packham all drew their games. The turning point came with Lee Brockwell gaining a winning position and then Ian McAllan sealed the match by winning a bad bishop ending.
