Our En Passant Cup team have played Beckenham needing a win to stay in contention for a semi-final place. The match started with Jaimie Fountain’s attack winning through and Dave Helps drawing from a seemingly inferior position. Jim Johnson then won the game of the season playing an interesting exchange sacrifice, which left his opponent paralysed. Eventually his opponent returned the material, but this did not relieve the pressure and his opponent ran out of moves. Greg Edwards in a lost position won with a back rank mate trick and Lee Brockwell was also much worse, but eventually won. Ian McAllan then won an interesting game, so we won 5.5 - 0.5 doing our game points (goal difference) no end of good.
