Sidcup has entered a team in the Kent Summer Quickplay Tournament and we won our first match against Lewisham by 10-6 and our second match against Gravesend by 9-7.

This is a handicap tournament of half hour games where the weaker player gets more time than the stronger player. This can lead to surprise results, as when Tony Packham, recently outright winner of the Lower Section of the 1st Orpington FIDE Rapidplay Tournament with five wins and a bye, with four minutes for the whole game dropped a rook and could not recover. But mostly the stronger player wins.
