The match season has started and the Stevenson Cup side has played its first match against Gravesend. Jim Johnson and Rohit Vishwakarma drew their games early on. Tony Packham got his move order wrong and lost material while Lee Brockwell had a smooth victory. Greg Edwards’ game looked equal for a long time, but he found a way to win, and Ian McAllan was last to finish as usual with his opponent making a terrible blunder in time-trouble on move 47 giving Ian the win and Sidcup the match 4-2.
